Octopus Cable Charges 10 Devices for Just $10

via Gizmodo by Mark Wilson

There are USB cords and there are USB cords...and there are USB cords with like 10 different adapters coming out. But rarely are such monstrosities this cheap.

The $10 Octopus USB Cable has 10 different tentacles (ignore the fact that octopi usually have 8) to charge pretty much any mobile device you could ownmost probably at a rate of 1 at a time. Specifically, that mix includes:

 Nokia 2.06mm (or 2mm)
 Nokia 3.5mm
 Sony PSP
Motorola (V3 series) & HTC and other phones using USB Mini 5 pin as a charging port
 Micro USB (for Motorola V8)
 LG
 Samsung (20P (s))
 Samsung (20P (M))
 Sony Ericsson Fast Port
iPhone / iPod (for charging and data)

Motorola's W7 Active Edition Is Controlled With Hand Gestures

viaGizmodoby Sean Fallon on 5/11/09

As the name suggests, Motorola's neww7 Active Editionslider is targeted at sporty types, but the physical effort does not stop with the built-in pedometer and personal trainer application.

It appears that Moto is jumping on the accelerometer bandwagon big time with this oneusers can control functions on the phone with simple hand gestures:

Shake up your everyday phone experience by controlling MOTO W7 using simple hand gestures, taps and flicks. Flip the phone over to silence the ringer of an incoming call, snooze the alarm clock or pause the music. Shake twice to instantly launch your favorite application, such as the music player. When showing off your photo albums or music libraries, flick the phone right or left to move between songs and images.

The Moto W7 also features a 2.0 megapixel camera and it runs on a 3G networkalthough it appears that only customers in Asia and Latin America will be able to get their hands on one in the foreseeable future. [Motorola]

Motorola Evoke QA4 Looks Like the Bastard Son of the iPhone and Pre

viaGizmodoby Jesus Diaz on 3/30/09

The Evoke QA4 may be one of Motorola's very few last chances against their market irrelevance and the unstoppable touchscreen cellphone wave. One that looks like a genetic experiment between an iPhone and a Pre.

Of course, if it uses the same operating system as previous Motorola cellphones, the good looks and its 2.8-inch touchscreen won't amount to a hill of beans in the land of iPhone OS, Android, Web OS, and software applications. The Evoque QA4 also has a sliding 12-key pad for some clickity-clack calling action.

TheMotorola Evoque QA4will be shown at CTIA. [Mobilecrunch]
