PlayStation Eye Research - Auto Generated Avatars

Sony Labs has demoed some advanced facial recognition that it's researching for the PlayStation Eye. The system figures-out gender, knows where you're facing, and even tracks mouth movement. And eventually, the tech will make its way into new PS3 games.

Sony Labs has been researching this technology for a while. I think most people are familiar with it from Smile Shutter in the Sony CyberShot, and autofocus with face detection. But now, we've migrated this technology to PS3, and made it available as an SDK.

Through its various points of detection, the system can recognize individual faces and overlay a different model for each person. And that's where things get a little more interesting.

Half Dome Screen

Ha, this looks awesome. This half dome projector screen is big enough for two people to sit in front of, and isn't just a damn prototype�the California company behind it actually has them for sale.

The dome screen measures 3 by 6 feet, and uses a special 18-inch mirror to reflect the image from your projector that's hidden away on the outside. In the pic above you can see the little hole that the projector beams through, but in the video below they've just clumped it on the desk.

The screen ain't super cheap at $1440 (including international delivery), but that's still about $3000 less than some similar products we've seen in the past. If you're a gaming junkie (particularly with racers or flight sims), have a projector lying around, and don't mind a little bit of skewed perspective around the edges, then this might be an alternative to a big screen HDTV. Maybe.

Platformele si data de lansare nu au fost confirmate, dar daca luam �n calcul producatorul atunci mai mult ca asigur ca vom vedea o lansare simultana pe PC, Xbox 360 si PS3.

Sony Ericsson Aino Lets You Remote Control and Watch Videos From Your PS3 From Anywhere

Sony Ericsson's Aino isn't the PSP phone, but maybe it's the next best thing�it's the first phone with�Remote Play, so you can remotely control your PS3 and�watch videos from it�over Wi-Fi or anywhere through the internet. Why the hell didn't Sony do this before?

It also has a new feature called Media Go that'll automatically pull media off your PC over Wi-Fi whenever you plop it in the charging stand�obviously it requires a client on your PC, but whatever.

Oh yeah, it's a 3G GSM phone too. It's got a 3-inch screen, 8-megapixel camera with geo-tagging, light photo editing and video recording, built-in Facebook, YouTube, and Google apps like Search and Maps. It'll be out at the end of the year, likely for an ungodly sum given all the features packed into it. [Sony Ericsson]

Street Fighter 4 pentru PC se va lansa pe 5 iunie

Capcom a anuntat ca va lansa versiunea pentru PC a jocului Street Fighter IV pe 5 iunie 2009.

Aceasta versiune are mai multe optiuni dec�t cele pentri PS3 si Xbox 360 care au fost deja lansat.

Street Fighter IV pentru PC va avea trei moduri grafice noi care modifica liniile si culorile din acest joc. Aceste moduri grafice au fost implemetate de catre producatori doar �n versiunea pentru PC, deoarece consolele PLAYSTATION 3 si Xbox 360 sunt incapabile sa redea aceste efecte grafice.

�n Street Fighter IV apar personaje faimoase deja datorita jocurilor precedente: Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile dar si personaje noi cum sunt Crimson Viper, Abel, El Fuerte, Rufus.
