Military testing out new airless honeycomb tires

What you're looking at might just be the tire of the future. At least that's what the military thinks, as it's testing out prototypes of this new airless tire.

The advantages of airless tires are obvious: they can't be punctured and they never go flat. But it clearly takes a lot of science to get the proper material that can stand up to the pressure of a multi-ton military vehicle sitting on top of it. I look forward to when these things are the standard on normal cars we see on the highways.

Veritas RS III

The Veritas RS III is a modern edition of the sportscars produced by German car manufacturer Veritas in the 1950s. As its predecessors, the new Veritas RS III is powered by a choice of BMW-sourced engines - the 480-hp V8 or the 600-hp V10, adopted on the M models.

The modern Veritas first appeared as a concept, the RS3 presented in 2001, recently followed by additional details and prototype shots.

Now the project has come to its final stage: the RS III will be unveiled at the London Salon Priv� - a supercar show that will take place from 22 to 24 July 2009. Veritas is planning a limited series of 50 units, with a base price of $375,000.

The main�performance�figures include a 0-100 km/h time under 4 seconds and a top speed over 200 mph.

Activision a anuntat ca data oficiala de lansare pentru jocul Prototype este 5 iunie 2009 pentru Europa si 9 iunie 2009 pentru Statele Unite ale Americii.

Jocul Prototype va fi lansat �n versiunile pentru PC, PLAYSTATION 3 si Xbox 360.

Jucatorii vor intra �n rolul lui Alex Mercer, un om care a suferit mutatii genetice masive, �n urma carora si-a pierdut memoria dar a dob�ndit abilitatea de a-si schimba forma.

Luptele din Prototype sunt viscerale, extrem de rapide si se vor desfasura at�t �n plan orizontal c�t si �n plan vertical. Asta pentru ca Alex Mercer se deplaseaza �n stil Parkour pe strazile dar si pe blocurile din New York, orasul �n care se defasoara actiunea din jocul Prototype. �

Jocul este produs de catre Radical Entertainment, studioul care s-a ocupat si de productia jocurilor Hulk si Scarface - The World Is Yours.�
