Toyota is developing a smaller Hybrid to be cheaper than Honda Insight.

HONDA WITH ECO ASSIST IN THE NEW INSIGHT
Honda showed us the new Eco Assist, for better fuel economy.
The Assist starts with a button ECON, that adjusts control of the
transmission, engine and other powertrain elements for better
fuel economy.
The system will start in the new Honda Insight Hybrid in March 2009.
