Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness

via Gizmodo by Mark Wilson

Points for being different, I guess. Sony Ericsson's Xperia Pureness spruces up an otherwise ordinary phone with an extraordinary, clear LCD.

We have no details other than its "talk, text, time" theme and what we can('t) see: the Xperia is a no-frills candybar with a transparent, monochrome LCD screen.

You'll notice that in the video, the black buttons aren't even labeled with numbers. I actually prefer this absurdly minimal design to the still product render, however impractical, as it takes a phone designed purely to be striking and makes it even more striking.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 Official

via Gizmodo by matt buchanan

Hard to believe Sony Ericsson's Xperia X2 wasn't official until this momenthonestly, we care more about the awesome the Android-powered X3 at this pointbut Sony just made it real, it running Windows Mobile 6.5.

The hard specs: 3.2-inch WVGA touchscreen, 8.1MP camera, HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, TV-out. And oh yes, the panels custom interface on top of Windows Mobile is back, though refined, as we saw earlier. It'll be out later this year for 699 euros, so um, not cheap if it ever comes to the US.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X2

viaGizmodoby John Herrman on 6/11/09

You'd be forgiven for doubting, or at least being disappointed with, thefirst blurry shots of the Xperia X2,Sony Ericsson's rumored followup to thepricey-but-pretty X1. Today, we get a much better look.

The first thing that jumps out here, aside from the phone's tastefully designed brushed aluminum shell, isWindows Mobile 6.5's finger-friendly visage: indicationthough not confirmationthat this'll be one of the first wave of major 6.5 handsets, alongsidepreviously-announced hardwarefrom HTC. But above all, this means no Android, probably. Oh well!

The keyboard has a distinctive look too, bearing more resemblance to a full-size PC keyboard than a cellphone keypad. Hopefully the changes are strictly aesthetic, seeing as the previous model's keypad was one of its strongest points. Sadly, the original source isn't saying a whole lot about his device beyond what we can observe for ourselves, so for now, we simply gaze.

Sony Ericsson Aino Lets You Remote Control and Watch Videos From Your PS3 From Anywhere

viaGizmodoby matt buchanan on 5/28/09

Sony Ericsson's Aino isn't the PSP phone, but maybe it's the next best thingit's the first phone withRemote Play, so you can remotely control your PS3 andwatch videos from itover Wi-Fi or anywhere through the internet. Why the hell didn't Sony do this before?

It also has a new feature called Media Go that'll automatically pull media off your PC over Wi-Fi whenever you plop it in the charging standobviously it requires a client on your PC, but whatever.

Oh yeah, it's a 3G GSM phone too. It's got a 3-inch screen, 8-megapixel camera with geo-tagging, light photo editing and video recording, built-in Facebook, YouTube, and Google apps like Search and Maps. It'll be out at the end of the year, likely for an ungodly sum given all the features packed into it. [Sony Ericsson]

Sony Ericsson Idou Smartphone Appears With Whopping 12 Megapixel Camera

viaGizmodoby Odelia Lee on 4/7/09

Set to debut in Europe this October, theSony Ericsson Idouis a full-touchscreen smartphone with a 3.5-inch display and GPS.

The first model in a new series of entertainment phones fromSony Ericsson, the Idou is being marketed as a device capable of providing "unlimited entertainment." On the bill are music, video, photo, games, social network functionality.

Aside from the sweet camera offering, however, most of the other features seem pretty run of the mill. Sony Ericsson will have to pull up their britches and get working, because it all sounds like stuff we've seen before. No word yet on a stateside appearance. [MobilviaSlashgear]
